Manager's Specials

This is where our branches put their heads together and come up with some truly amazing deals for you.
We are always watching the trends, and with organic, natural elements being the focus right now, we appreciate that our customers would like to add a couple of these natural gems to their homes.

We have gathered some beautiful teak pieces for your consideration. No matter your décor style, the warm tones of teak, sourced from responsibly managed forests, offer a timeless aesthetic that becomes more beautiful with age.

Our teak is left raw, so the wood is the star.

Teak requires maintenance and care, as does all outdoor furniture, whether it be Aluminium, Batylin, Teak, Weave or Polypropylene. No outdoor furniture can keep its structural and material integrity without care & maintenance. Let your teak take on a natural grey patina. This requires washing your table every so often with a mild soapy mixture, a soft brush and a good rinse-off with a hosepipe. This way your teak will lock in its moisture, allowing it to take on an even grey patina.

Each branch offers you a different option and we encourage you to head to the “Specials” page on our website to view our Managers Specials.

Vitamin D Therapy

SUNSHINE & LAFUMA

We are very lucky to have such an abundance of sunlight during our winter months. Feeling the sun's warmth on your skin can chase the blues away. The sun gives us vital vitamin D, strengthening our immune system which helps us fight those nasty winter germs, reduce anxiety and stress, and generally improve our health and wellbeing.

So grab a Lafuma® Transabed and haul it out into the sunshine, (it’s foldable and so easy to carry), adjust its super-strong armrests to any of the three positions it offers, sink down into its all-weather Ferrari Batyline® seat, adjust the headrest till it’s just right, and get your Vitamin D blast.

Batyline® is such an exciting product, air-permeable & water-repellent, it has excellent UV resistance and ensures good air circulation all around. It is breathable and permeable to water but at the same time dries quickly, so no fuss with wet costumes.

Show your transabed some love by maintaining its beauty with regular care. A wash with a mild soapy solution on both the Batyline® seat and the frame will keep your product looking inviting and extend its lifespan.

Right, we have the chair, the sun has risen, but what is a healthy amount of time to spend soaking up Vitamin D in our Lafuma. Experts say that anywhere between 10 to 30 minutes of midday sun, several times a week should be adequate to keep your system supplied with naturally sourced Vitamin D.

Experts do advise that you test these times in accordance with your skin type, and it’s sensitivity to sunlight.

The Art of Lounging About

Lounging about is something well within the grasp of most humans, but do we really know how to use that day off from work, free from chores and responsibilities to truly unwind? Lounging is and artform, and has been around since the early Mayans, the Egyptians, through to the Romans, and almost every other civilisation in between.

Probably the earliest form of lounge furniture can be traced back to hammocks found in ancient Mayan civilisations that were beautifully crafted from natural fibres. Lounging was accessible to all who could weave a hammock. Once the Egyptians adopted the concept, lounging became a pastime reserved for royalty and the powerful. Enter the Chaise Lounge, designed to be carried around whilst the user relaxed and indulged themselves, making sure everyone was aware of their status.

The Romans & Greeks added excess and design to their spectacular lounging furniture, going as far as to design dining spaces where you could lie whilst you ate. Lounging had been taken out of the hands of ordinary people, but that all changed with the Industrial Revolution and thankfully today lounging is within reach of us all.

So what can we do in this day and age to unwind, and learn to truly lounge around.

We live in the bustle of normal life, long hours at work, noise pollution, and for many, limited outdoor spaces, especially in built-up urban areas. The search for peace and relaxation can seem like a distant dream. However a trend is emerging, where people are creating their own “green space” whether it be the balcony of an apartment or a small patch of garden in a Complex.
If we use our imagination any space can be reclaimed and set aside for lounging and the hammock is never too far out of mind. It can be suspended off the ground freeing up vital floor space, or indulge in a hammock chair if your space is limited. Create your own nook, customise it to serve your lounging needs, add greenery, soft cushions and good lighting for nights of good conversation or reflection.

The lounging trend is everywhere, with many businesses developing lounging spaces within the work environment. Managers are seeing the potential of increasing productivity by allowing a certain time to lounge. Some complexes have gone as far as creating shared green spaces with multiple benches and seating throughout their gardens for lounging and restoring peace to the environment we live in.

So reclaim your right to lounge. Create that nook of zen-like peace and devote some time to pure relaxation.

We would love to hear from you, so if you have any queries or projects we can assist you with please contact us.
